Heath Childs
Heath Childs is the newest co conspirator on Mark Allan's musical adventure, and has brought a lot to the table with his lead guitar and harmony vocal abilities, and even more with his songwriting skills. Heath was raised on the Tex-Mex border in Del Rio and has been playing music since getting his first real drum kit at age 3. Over the years he's developed skills on drums, piano, bass, guitar, and mandolin, although he says "I claim no expertise at any of these!"
Mark Allan has said that he's more excited about writing with Heath than anything else right now. "Heath's a great songwriter, and he makes me a better songwriter whether I'm writing with him or not," Atwood said. About his own songwriting, Childs says, "I wrote my first song in algebra class when I was a sophomore in high school. I don't even know how many I've written since - most of 'em suck, a lot of 'em are pretty good, and there's a few of 'em that are purty good."
Heath and Mark Allan perform as an acoustic duo often, as well as with the full band.
